What to Expect
Going upside down can be daunting. This two-hour workshop focussing on headstands is about building your confidence, suitable for those who are completely new to inversions or those wanting to advance their practice. Inversions are energising postures that can be empowering yet playful, and challenging at times. During inversions, you see the world from a different place, providing the opportunity to shift your perspective. Headstands (or Sirsasana) have many physical, emotional, and psychological benefits. These include: Strengthening the upper body and core Stimulating lymphatic drainage Reducing muscle tension Improving your circulation Regulating your metabolism Improving your balance and stability Enhanced focus and memory We will help you find the confidence to challenge yourself and give it a go. This will include focussing on warming up, building strength with specific conditioning exercises, working on correct alignment (including hand positioning and posture). This will be an opportunity to try variations of headstands, remember there is more than one way to go up! We will finish with a cool down and stretching, a chance to release the body and allow you to integrate all your hard work. Join us on the mat for some inversion fun! (If booking more than one person please email info@breezeyoga.co.uk, do not book via the website for multiple bookings as they will not appear on the register - Please note workshops are non refundable and non transferable)
