Kirsty McGill
Kirsty brings a joyful northern energy to the studio, grounded in a lifelong love of movement and a professional background in dance and performing arts. Movement has been her language since childhood — a way of expressing, exploring, and understanding herself and the world around her. In her younger years, she followed her passion for dance across Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. With jazz, contemporary and ballet at the heart of her training, she performed with dance companies and in productions including Phantom of the Opera and Aida. Those years shaped not only her artistry, but also a deep respect and understanding for the body — its resilience, intelligence, and need for care — with Pilates, yoga, and movement offering strength and support through injuries and life’s challenges. A devoted mum of two, she believes deeply in movement as medicine and is passionate about helping others find strength, freedom, and ease in their bodies. Practicing since 1995, teaching Mat Pilates since 2009, Thai Yoga since 2013, and Reformer and Equipment Pilates since 2015, Kirsty brings nearly 30 years of experience in movement and wellness to her classes. Over the years, she has built a broad and specialised skill set, including Pilates (mat and full apparatus), pre- and post-natal Pilates, pelvic health and rehabilitation, menopause-focused Pilates, Pilates for MS and osteoporosis awareness, post-operative breast cancer rehabilitation, myofascial release, and women’s wellness support. Her classes are grounded in knowledge, yet infused with warmth, intuition, and creativity.
